Challenge newb question {scared to start any challenge}

Heya all

Newb question as ive heard a few mixed and scary things about challenges

The main thing I have heard or read, is that when you start a challenge...your MAIN GAME is reset forever back to as if you started the game over... loss of all items and progress other than what you unlocked in the challenge..

can this really be true??
I understand FOR the challenge it resets but shouldnt that be just for the challenge and when thats over it puts you back to where you were before starting the challenge, only with the addition of whatever you unlocked in said challenge?

please let me know as this is scaring me from doing ANY challenges and preventing me from unlocking very very helpful things / items/skills/seeds etc

there is beard for drop chance... keep blood up... it takes time to get the rare loots. Although I think mine was higher. 0.5% at least.

Another challenge question

the Level 100 chal says
that it resets your ngu beard and augs to 1

is that permanent?

even says cap is 100 on ngu etc per rebirth

do you use some weird translation? Because mine doesn't say anything like that.

Anyway, no NGU neither permanent beards are reset. EVER

The 100 levels challenge only allows the first 100 levels each rebirth to affect your stats between augments, time machine, blood magic, wandoos and beards (only the "current level" for beards).
You might want to disable beards before running that challenge because you really need those levels between the other features but that's about it, the permanent bonuses from beards are untouched.

No challenge will ever permanently remove your permanent bonuses.
Even challenges like the no NGU challenge that negates your NGU bonuses only negates the bonuses from your NGU levels for the duration of the challenge but it won't touch the levels and after you defeat the target boss all of the bonuses come back normally.
