Some Questions after beating Jake From Accounting.
I've become strong enough to auto-kill him now too.
My stats are really strong, but I am very curious if I should start on any of the challenges, or what not. I mean, I did basic and No Aug once each, and they weren't hard per se.

The Troll Challenge seems like it could be more entertaining than "Day 3: Willing to strangle a Game Dev." :P

I mean, the biggest thing for the Troll challenge is just having to play it straight through and take breaks from time to time if it gets too annoying.
I mean, no offline progress isn't the worst thing. I really want that X3 speed for Magic NGUs.

So, other than maxing out my gear, to prepare me for the lesser painful challenges than the Troll, is there anything else I should be concentrating on?

Also, is there any way to speed up the seed growth in the Yggdrasil tree? Because 1 hour is painfully slow when it only gives 0.1% drop chance on the really expensive fruit of luck.

I really hope there are ways to speed it up, or that should be what completing the final troll challenge should get you. :P

Jake is a bit early for challenges, it's not impossible but it will take way too much time.

The usual guideline is to do the first basic challenge and the first 24h challenge somewhat early (possibly even a bit before where you are).

After reaching mega land, finish the basic challenge since you start needing the bonus at that point.
You can also do the first of most challenges at that point for a pretty nice overall bonus but it's optional.
After getting to walderp, you can start clearing most of the challenges but the ones you really want will be no augments (full clear), 100 levels (full clear), troll challenge (3rd clear or more).

Laser sword challenge can be done as a normal rebirth when you approach the end of normal mode.
24h challenge is less of a grind now but the last few still require that you at least have the beast's set (preferably the chocolate set).

For yggdrasil, you would probably want to first upgrade the fruit of gold to 10 and harvest it instead of eating it then the pomegranate to 10.
If you activate them and let them grow to their max rank they will give significantly more than at rank 1, it does take a full hour per rank after activation but the returns are very much worth it.
With the seeds you get from those two fruits, you will be able to upgrade the other early fruits quite easily, and when you unlock the ability to upgrade them all the way to 24 go for those two fruits first again (still for seeds).
Outside of the fruit of gold and the fruit of power alpha (their main bonus, seeds are permanent from all fruits), all fruits give you permanent rewards so they will be fairly low initially but it will stack as you continue to grow and eat them over the course of the next few months.
The fruit of knowledge is nearly useless until you get it to rank 24 and grab the relevant itopod perks (both "fruit of knowledge sucks" and "first harvest"), when you have all of that it will become a massive source of exp, boosted by both NGU Yggdrasil and NGU exp.

Thank you for all that advice! I will indeed use it. I will not worry about the challenges for right now, and work on getting through to the Mega Lands.
Which I am guessing is right after the A Very Strange place?

I take it Beards and MacGuffins are both far into the future?
Fel Dec 20, 2019 @ 9:02am
Mega land is indeed right after a very strange place.
Beards are from the next titan (UUG) and macguffin from the one after that (Walderp) so they are reasonably close, especially since there is only 1 zone between UUG and Walderp.

The only thing is that from mega land onward is the end of the "newbie progression" that allowed to go to the next zone quite easily with barely more than just levelling and boosting the sets so it takes a bit more time to get bonuses from all sources in order to raise your adventure stats.

Ah. Okay. I'll look forward to that craziness.
Gold Digging has made it easier to boost my Attack/Defense, so I can also use that to help beat up on the bosses needed to unlock Ugg and friends.

Hopefully Ugg will not be as annoying as Jake's locking of your skills.
Fel Dec 20, 2019 @ 9:10am
Each titan has its own gimmick, UUG is basically impossible if you don't spend many hours farming for a special item, walderp forces you to read the adventure log before picking what attack to use (he has an insta-kill move that he only uses if you don't respect his rules).
The titans starting from walderp also have a series of things you need to do in order to unlock their true form and start getting their loot.

(If you don't want to figure it out on your own, the wiki has everything written down properly)

Great,
Now I'm not looking forward to those fights.
I hate literally having to be forced into doing only specific things. Especially in a game that until now seemed balanced and logical and was not trying to turn itself into some weird M.C. Esher endless staircase.

Unless I am vastly misunderstanding what you mean. Feel free to correct me, but certain things should simply not be done.
This isn't ADOM, Walderp isn't the damn Banshee.
That's a balanced instant death mechanic. Because you can counter it easily with bee wax.

Really hoping I am misunderstanding the issue, and Walderp isn't that silly difficult.

I'm sorry for editing my message a ton and refitting it, but I am really hoping this isn't as difficult as it sounds.

You have been fighting what were basically instant-death mechanic creatures since the faeries from the forest zone. I just beat Walderp for the first time yesterday; I died a couple of times against him; all that happens is i'm back in the safe zone ready to try again. Walderp was probably more silly than difficult, and as for UUG it just takes a short grind before you can counter his special effect. Don't worry too much about these titans, you'll take em no sweat.
Fel Dec 20, 2019 @ 10:01am
For walderp it's nowhere as bad as you seem to think it is.
Most of the fight is a normal fight, it's just that once in a while it will either say "walderp says use X" and you he will kill you if you use anything else (or don't do anything for a short while) or "use X" and you will have to use an attack skill that deals damage and that is different from what he tells you to use (same as before, you don't have a long time to decide but it's not twitch reaction either).

What it really means is that you don't want to be using your long cooldowns unless you just met one of the two (they are sufficiently far appart to allow your cooldowns to fully run between two of them) but as long as you are just a bit careful it's not that bad.

On top of it, it is the only titan that has its weapon as a garanteed drop and it is even at level 10.
That weapon doesn't have special bonuses, it can transform into the ultra rare weapon drop that has the same power/toughness at level 100 but has special bonuses.
You will most likely want to keep a copy of the basic version of the weapon at level 100 because it only requires 10 kills and it is a decent increase in adventure stats compared to the previous zone's weapon.

This means that it's easier to reach the next zone as well as the auto-kill stats, but even before auto-kill having higher power means being able to defeat the titan much faster as well.

Alright. THank you for explaining it.
Sorry for overreacting.
I have a tendency to freak out from time to time.
My Asperger's does not help sometimes.

I do look forward to continuing to play the game, and I will enjoy it. Especially now that I know that Walderp is basically Simon Says the Titan. :P That is something I am fairly good at.

I can handle that. I was just fearing for the worst. Sorry.

As for the Fairies, I think their explosion was also set up to not be a danger unless you have very little damage.

I personally do everything on idle. So I don't have to worry about the simon says BS :)

And there is one thing you COULD do (in 2 parts), if you really want to maximize your seeds from the Yggd tree. 1) Keep the game running when you are not at your computer. 2) Download an auto clicker, using it on the Harvest/Eat max tier fruit button.

Not saying everyone HAS do this, but it is an option that is available. Some don't want to, and it's their game to do what they want with.

Progress wise, I am using Adv Digger and farming Mega Lands. Working on maxing the 50 and 100 boosts (as I already did the previous ones). (Leveling a boost to Lv 100, increases the benefit of all boosts.. read the tooltips in the Item List).Meta Land gear is between Lv 4 and 11, so I have a ways to go on these. I have to check from every 15mins or so, go to the safe zone to regen hp to full (if not killed and already at safe zone) before going back to Mega Lands to let it idle kill stuff (as I said at the beginning, I idle everything. I need higher stats then someone that does active killing, but I don't stress over it either).
Fel Dec 20, 2019 @ 12:07pm
I'm pretty sure the first 3 kills of walderp need to be done yourself, so if you want to not have to do the "says" part you would need ridiculously high stats to be able to defeat him before the first time he does that.
davidb11 Dec 20, 2019 @ 2:51pm
So, A monster randomly, I'm not sure who, dropped a Crimson Fluid liquid, and drinking it unlocked Hyper Regen.
So, uh, what?
Was that the special item you mentioned for Ugg?
Fel Dec 20, 2019 @ 2:59pm
No, the special item is a ring and you will absolutely not get it randomly by playing normally.
The mysterious red liquid is just a rare drop from the second titan that unlocks a skill that heals you a whole lot when fighting without idle attack enabled in adventure mode (it's the second skill in the third row).
davidb11 Dec 20, 2019 @ 3:07pm
Oh. Okay. I See. So, A really special ring might drop in the zone Ugg is tied to? I'm just guessing.
I do look forward to progressing.

It's a rare drop from Grand Corrupted Tree. Eventually, as your drop rate bonuses increase, it'll become more common, which is nice as the reward for maxing it is very good.
