Energy speed going down??

Hi everyone, I'm having trouble understanding what seems to be a feature (or maybe a really strange bug). I recently spent EXP to boost my energy speed to 16.7. I looked away for a few minutes, and saw that when I came back, my energy speed had been lowered to 13.5, and I hadn't been refunded any EXP. I thought this could be a bug, so I decided to load a save from earlier in the day, and I saw that I had an energy speed of 17.4, and a base speed of 12.4. Is Energy speed being affected by NUMBER at all? It doesn't make sense that I would spend EXP on something only to have those numbers go down immediately after.

DId you perhaps change your equipment to a set from a higher zone?

Only the first few sets have energy speed in their "special bonus", it quickly disappears from equipments, asking you to get up to the cap of 50 energy speed (and magic speed) purely from exp.

what you buy is "base value", that will never ever go down. Then bonuses applies (from your gear for example) and you get the real value that is used through the game (this one is the speed you see on Energy bar tooltip for example). So two things to keep in mind:

* if you bought the base speed but also removed the equipment with a bonus, the real speed might have gone down

* a bit later, when you use better gear it always has the "100% effectiveness gained at boss #xx" meaning you only get fracture of its stats when you are below the mentioned boss. So it's also possible to "buy stats", then rebirth and see lower stats then before.

In any way you will never loose anything. (Number doesn't affect anything but the attack/defense. The boss you are currently at however does.)

when you add or remove equipment, you need to be looking in the top right hand corner of your inventory window :)
