Is the forest pendent actaully uselss?

I am currently the forest pendent just for the sake up it... Am I wasting my time??

For starters it is part of the forest set, if you level all of the forest set to 100 you will gain 5 energy power and 3 premium consumables.
Once the pendant is level 100, you will also be able to transform it into the ascended forest pendant (at level 0), that one does have stats for you and the line continues until you ascended it 7 times (you won't obtain that until way later).
Forest pendants and its ascended version continue to drop from nearly every adventure zone, with higher levels and versions as you go to stronger zones.

I am sorta a beginner in this game now. (Just defeated GRB.)
I find it quite cool that you do not just switch your entire gear as you move on to higher zone, but also has this one piece of equipment that levels up with you. It makes me pay the price (in the form of inventory management), but is so powerful at my level that it gives me the feeling -- "Worth the effort!".
