Tier of infinity cube

How raises the Tier of infinity cube? Had a cube tier 0, after many boosts it gets tier 1. how will it get tier 2 and higher? More boosts, higher boss defeated or consume a special item?

Every time your cube's power + toughness gets an extra digit you get one more tier (starting with 100 for tier 1, so 1,000 for tier 2, 10,000 for tier 3 and so on up to currently tier 10 at 100,000,000,000).

But since the infinity cube only gets a very small portion of the boosts you apply (1% per default, 2% with the itopod perk, and half that to both with special boosts) you don't exactly want to specifically farm boosts for the cube (in later parts of the game you will sink thousands of high rank boosts in it just because you are farming itopod when you don't have anything better to farm).
