Is land worth having
Hello. I'm new to the game lvl 45 shadehunter atm,and my question is about land in this game. I managed to get 3 plots of 16x16 and mainly for trade pack running but comparing it to fishing, fishing seems to be a lot faster and gets you a lot more gold. There isnt a set area to farm specific mats so you end up just buying seeds for the trade pack, but then you make back barely any gold from what you just spent. So is there any other reason to have land other then trade packing cause fishing seems the way to go for gold and just wondering what else to do with my land since i wont be doing trade runs?

well I got 3 16x16 plots, one is a house and other two are farms. I turned one into a baobab farm that gives 20 ish gold every 14 hours by selling them to the npc. I tried trade packs and it cost like 6-7 gold just to get enough seeds to make one trade pack and even when i turned it in coming from lilyut to two crowns only gave me 14 gold barely making a profit so I stopped doing those. The only trade pack worth doing in my opinion is the gilda ones that give 30 ish gold turning in but i dont wanna waste gilda on that. I'm trying to find a better use for my land cause keeping 3 16x16 plots is 3600 labor a week which is a lot.

Trade packs become exponentially more profitable as you gain the ability to create them using your own produce and transport them farther away in large quantities, but they're the driving force for piracy so it's very much a guild thing.

Land isn't strictly necessary if you find a good place to plant in the wild, but of course that's rolling the dice every time and it's game over the moment hackers show up on your server.

Ultimately it's a question of how much gold you can get per LP, and the basic rates for just processing raw materials from the auction house can be very competitive considering the lack of time cost.

the trade packs in my area need dried flowers and it takes 300 seeds just to make 1 track pack the seeds cost 6 ish gold and then i turn the pack in for 14 gold so im not even making any profit from that so I dont understand why people even bother with trade packs the seeds just cost too much.

It's a complex system with variable demand percentages based on oversupply, states of war and random price boosting events, and with the various versions of AA existing over the years it's tricky to google exact mechanics. 14g is a particularly low offer, you can see all possible goods at the speciality buyers and rank them by price, and [Shift + O] shows current demand levels between regions.

Cactus seeds from the vocation shop might be a better source for dried flowers, and it's worth stockpiling the materials for a full vehicle load of packs so you can react quickly to temporary high prices.

I think some people bother with scrubby trade packs because their main goal is raising vocation skills and the auction house ain't buying, so at least it's an NPC shop that pays enough to break even.

unless i wanna spend gilda on trade packs all the other trade packs only give 10-15 gold. Only the gilda packs are worth 34 gold and imo arent worth the gilda to make them, yet i keep seeing people making the normal trade packs and turning them in and I'm just scratching my head like if you need gold why not just fish, only thing I can think of is there leveling prof.
