ArcheAge: Unchained

ArcheAge: Unchained

Locked.
Edit. Protip;
Merchants sell items and weapons for your class, so no need to reset your account because you're struggling.

If you picked a ♥♥♥♥ class, just double back and do yellow quests until you reach level 15 to swap off

I'm out.
Thanks for your replies but I've read enough.

- - -

First off, I'm honestly ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, everyone says it.

Started the game off as a Vitality Dumbledore,
Continued on with the game even though all the colours are causing massive eyestrain for some reason,
Only completing Main Story quests because was told yellow quests are for muggles and their XP is really bad.

Am ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and for some reason chose the wrong gear from a quest reward, apparently I should of chosen Cloth, but I've got Knight ♥♥♥♥ on.

Next ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ thing is, I chose a Scimitar, but I should of chose a Staff.

Reached level 5, and picked the Song Wizard as the second class,
Kept going from Quest to Quest, haven't actually killed anything yet.

Level 11 or so now,
I've got my first kill quest, and I'm starting to think the game is boring as ♥♥♥♥ if it took 11 levels to reach this point.
I know yellow quests include them, - but ♥♥♥♥ XP

I study my skills and go in for the kill on this ghost monster,
Trying my hardest, using my heals on myself when I get low,
but I can't kill a single enemy.
NOT FUKN 1.
Kinda stuck, guess I gotta backtrack now and do some yellow quests to level up more.

All my skills are mostly buffs and weird speed abilities.

That's my story for the first day I've played ArcheAge.

You picked the most awful build to solo as it seems lol

Finally killed one, but I still can't progress.

Can't even ask chat for help because I'm not level 15 to communicate.

how long have you played yet ?

Maybe consider starting new if you choose the wrong armor and start with better Skilltrees then ~ getting some advice from other people first maybe ^^

Plenty of 101 videos on youtube. I would consider rerolling or make an alt if you only used 1 char slot then you can move your gold and other stuff to him.

Managed to swap to Cloth and a Staff,
But as it turns out the Staff was causing me grief.

I asked for advice and used some Club which gave me better healing ability but less magic damage,
but strangely it gave more damage compared to the staff for my abilities.

I'm perfectly fine now, the Staff was just not working.

Cleric build (if that's what you're going for) gets better later on. They got some good AOE options for farming mobs and progress pretty quickly. Also amazing survivability. In PvP they can pretty much survive anything. Hang in there, buddy.

Intelligence is the stat for sorcery, damage-focused songcraft attacks, and anything related to magic damage. The weapon of choice are scepters for 1h and staffs for 2h.

Vitalism makes use of healing power, which is found in clubs for 1h and greatclubs for 2h. You're also looking at the Spirit stat for more healing power too.

If you do the sidequests alongside your main story quests you'll be at a reasonable level in comparison to the mobs you'll find in the zones, otherwise you'll be under-leveled after a certain point. There's also three important side-quests to make note of. The first being for your mount, the second is for your glider, and the third is at level 20 for a battle pet which will be great for healers. Especially once you get them armor from the stable as you can then command the pet to fight and move to a more supportive role.

Until you get to level 10 to get Antithesis you're just going to have to use Mirror Light and spam Holy Bolt, taking time to recover between each enemy. No idea what you plan to play as so what you're looking to do could help with some suggestions as to what you'll need to do to change your skills around.

Cheers for all your replies,
They were very helpful,

And yep I was spamming holy bolt and healing as much as I could.

Lvl 15 now, no idea what I'm trying to be, just randomly playing the game and choosing classes that seem cool.
I've picked Archer as my 3rd choice, but my pings at 250 (considered good for Aussies) so probably will have to swap off this class.

I didn't have to restart earlier either like suggested,
one of the blacksmith merchants had a quest reward box I could buy than had a weapons I could choose from

You could always go for a more damage oriented build with your current spec even.
Go ahead and take the staff. get more damage. you can always break the weapon down (with an adventurers stone), and purchase another another from the weaponsmith. It'll be a box listed as 1h weapons. If you wanted to reroll back to a full healer build. I assume that's what you want to focus on since you started as vitality.

Just make you at level 50 you've made you're finaly decision on what type of gear you would like to use. Because once you upgrade your adventurers set into hiram for the last story quests in Diamond shores that's the end of rerolling you're gear.

Keep in mind you'll most likely have to recraft your gear at some point anyways, cause the stats they roll is pretty RNG, and you only get so many stat reroll as you infuse your gear.

If you're really confused you could always look at a Youtube guide. Belamy makes some good ones https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yuJQgp2fpIA&t=479s

I can't vouch if the game explains this because I skip the text and cutscenes, but you can upgrade the gear you have with the story infusions you get from quests, and then awaken them once they've maxed. And if you want to swap from plate to leather, or plate to cloth, or anything to anything, just go buy an armor box for 5-10s from the armor merchant (same thing for weapons) and use that. If you've upgraded your gear, you can deconstruct the gear and get back your materials, just don't delete or sell your gear that you've upgraded. Use an Adventurers evenstone to break the items down (DONT USE REGULAR EVENSTONES, only the ADVENTURERS EVENSTONE).

All classes feel quite weak imo until you get around level 30 ish and have upgraded all your gear to the level 30 stuff. Even at level 50+ you can feel weak without fully upgraded gear and a proper build. Thankfully, swapping builds and testing new things is quite easy. I'd suggest use 1-49 to test out the builds and classes you like, and once you've decided for sure, then upgrade your gear to the level 50 mark (Hiram gear). Once you've upgraded to Hiram, you CANNOT break it back down for infusions again.

they have r a p e d healers in archeage.. i tried to play one and your heals to self are nerfed to the ground and they dont do enough damage to actually kill more than 1 mob until way way later... the game is horribly askewed and no one is bothering to fix it. honestly its better to just pass on this and save your time in que.
Caldrin Oct 28, 2019 @ 3:40am
It takes like 10 minutes or get to level 11.
Lee Oct 28, 2019 @ 1:20pm
yeah you can get to level 30 through main quest spam in under 2 hours easily. You need to take cloth armour and honestly you should have just went with something like sorcery for first skill tree for the damage if you're struggling and new to the game, you can always swap out and level up different skills later on. I'd just start a new character if I were you to be honest.
