Cracks Call - Web and Towers

I generally like Caster of Magic for windows, I think it has improved a lot from the original, but there are a few things that still needs correction imo.
It seems to me that Cracks Call and Web are much too powerful.
Cracks Call(25MP) destroys powerful units 1 out of 4 times – that’s ridiculous!
Web(10MP) disables a unit for at least 1 turn, with no resist check! That makes no sense!
The way to fix both spells would be simple, put a resist check on both of them.

I think it’s a bit odd, that you can raze cities but not towers, it would be nice if you could raze the towers and thereby the portals – as it gets real annoying with all the portals when you play with one of the bigger world sizes. There could be a spell like “Summoning Circle” say “Plane Gate” that could be used to always provide a way to the other plane instead of just having the “Plane Shift” spell.

Web behavior is the same as original.

Crack's call has been tamed compared to the original... In the original, it's instant death for 20MP. In caster of magic it's 25MP for 21 hit points damage.

Definitely much better IMO. Cracks Call in the original was crazy against enemy wizards on high levels; you would send in Torin with 6 artifacts at Demi-God who can defeat hundreds of enemies but is easily killed with cracks call, which also prevented reincarnation and similar effects.

Web shouldn’t be changed IMO. Without web, flyers are way too powerful now that flyers don’t attack non-flyers if 5hey are weaker.

Razing Towers of Wizardry would be great.Maybe a spell or using engineers to shut them down as world portals.Planar Seal is missing a lot...

Well. I guess both Web and cracks call are fulfilling their purpose.
Web counters fliers who could otherwise be a pita to deal with.
And Cracks Call counters singular insanely powered guys like Torin with 3 artifacts. Who would otherwise be impossible to deal with.

Web is VERY powerful really! Maybe give it a base 50% success rate to nerf it a little.
Or make it halve movement, but make flyers groundbased!
Completely stopping an enemy in its tracks is awesome (for me when I cast it, but not when others do on me lol), as it works on the most powerful units (apart from wraithformed / non-corporal units).
If you made it reduce movement only, and grounds flyers, that might be better / less powerful.

Cracks call has been toned down, but I think 21 damage on a hero is still too much, unless it no longer applies a no resurrection status (I mean you can dig the body up if you needed). 16 damage might be better perhaps? But allowing resurrection would be nice.

Maybe have web reduce damage and movement by a flat amount? For many units it would still be paralysis, but for very powerful units it's merely a strong temporary debuff.

Does the web still have 12 hp? It should reduce damage by 12, instead of being able to directly counter something with 30 attack and a breath weapon.

Spells that scale with the power of the opponent are very spiffy, but generally shouldn't be found at common tier.

I don't think Web is overpowered. You are spending cast on it, which are scarce. I.e. you may cast something more powerful instead and stopping one enemy is not really a big deal if there are several of them.

The only exception of abusing Web is probably casting it with Magicians, but even then there are just way to many counters: i.e. Magicians are weak, shooters can kill some of them on first turn, any 9-pack is also a counter since you need to split your Magicians between Webbing and dealing damage.

An annoyance is when you attack an AI's city which is nearly entirely full of magicians and the wizard has web+cracks call; all the magicians cast web on the entire stack and then the wizard casts cracks call each turn. If you don't have dispelling wave you'll get very unlucky sooner or later and lose some heros. If it is intended to be this powerful then so be it.
Otherwise the best answer is probably to send in some cannon fodder first.

Well true. While Web+Cracks Call kinda counters super-heroes. Then its also really obnoxious to deal with when you just want to "peacefully" level your heroes. It kinda means you either save-scum, dont use them against nature wizards, or accept you need raise dead if you want to keep them.

If you are worried about Crack's Call affecting your heroes, you can equip a Wraithform or Merging item to prevent it, or keep the hero away from battles that involve the Nature wizard.

Ah i wasnt aware wraith form were also a solution to cracks call.
