In any case, your mileage may vary, I'd recommend experimenting a little with the cycle count to find what feels right for you. The default keys to do this are Ctrl+F11 (cycles down) and Ctrl+F12 (cycles up), but bear in mind that their behaviour is dependent on DOSBox configuration. That is, the default upscale is a flat +500 cycles, while down it's -20%. You may want to modify the dosboxMOM.conf file in the folder of the version you're playing to scale upwards by a percentage too.
