Will be ever have Beneath a Steel Sky remastered in PC?
Revolution released Beneath a Steel Sky Rematered in iOS back in 2009 but never released anywhere else. I know we already have the origianl version free in GOG but I still find kinda stupid that it's 2020 and it's sequel has just been released but an enhanced version of the first game hasn't been released yet.

Just download it off GOG and run it with ScummVM.

Why?

I think in many ways, this is what they would have done anyhow. Think of it this way: the story isn’t all that different, and some of the puzzles have similar solutions. This game is their way of doing a “remaster” without being duplicative.

I've already acknowleged that the original game is availiable for free in GOG. I'm talking specifically about the Remastered version of the first game.

High resolution fully animated cutscenes, remastered audio, new hint system and additional languages for close captions and text. That's why, also to have the game avaliable in other platforms that aren't iOS.

But it looks, runs and sounds just fine on pc.

You're completely missing his point that the remastered version adds a bunch of improvements missing from the PC version.

My point was, running it in ScummVM is probably the best that you're gonna get on PC. It's a source port supporting modern hardware and OSes (but you knew that). It should be better than running the game in DOSbox. It's been 9-10 years since the Remaster came out, if a PC port was coming it probably would've happened by now.

By all mean though, I recommend sending polite emails and social media messages to Revolution Software asking for a port. There's no harm in asking.

I personally don't like the 2009 iOS remaster. The intro sequence was perfect the way it was back in the original. The new animations in that intro look like VERY cheap Flash animations, which actually make it all look worse than before. Some voice lines from the intro were changed as well - and not for the better. Better stick with the classic.
