Why the iphone/ipad/mobile focus?
This companies Broken Sword games been beautiful and immersive but Beyond a Steel Sky is much less impressive. Outright ugly at times. Why was this given a "mobile treatment"? It does at times bring out the old Beneath a Steel Sky feel but to often its way to goofy and silly even if the original was that too.

Because whether you like it or not there's a lot of money on mobile, mobile games generate more money than all PC and console game sales combined

Broken Sword looks different. Im sure it can look better and more like the old games.

Don't agree with it being ugly at at all. In fact the game looks pretty good from an artistic standpoint. Definitely wouldn't have expected it to be on phones first. (however it was an odd thing to do for its first release)

I think characters has an uncanny feel to it. I would prefer the Broken Sword look to it. But yeah, its a odd choice. We can agree on that.

I think the game looks great. I was able to experience it on my iPhone 12 originally and loved the aesthetic. I was sceptical to begin with also because I prefer 2.5D like Broken Sword 4 but the 3D style soon won me over when I actually made it into Union City. I believe Revolution Software brokered a deal to have BaSS as a flagship Apple Gaming product to help sell their subscription service. I had to sign up to it to play the game because I couldn’t just purchase it outright. I now own it on the Switch Lite,

I say, don't make a sequel to a beloved PC game mainly for phones. But you're probably on to something.

I agree with your sentiment. The game should have been made with the PC in mind to begin with then ported onto mobile devices a year later. It’s a fine product either way and I don’t think much was lost by going through the mobile route which was likely far more lucrative to the developers. It’s a very worthy sequel but I would probably have preferred the game to be in a traditional 2.5D.

Yeah, the old style would been nice to see. A pity we got the style we got, oh well.
