Cant play the game i bought

So i just bought the game spent 4 minutes trying to launch it,
the problem here is that the setting thingy pops up then i press the "save and play" button but nothing it keeps reappearing.
i tried reinstalling the game and restarted my computer as well

try running steam in admin and running the game from its local files in admin. its helped me many times for various games

Try changing the compatibility to Vista service pack 2 then run on administrator from the local game files.. I did that and its running just fine.

I had this problem earlier today, I had to restart my computer in order for it to start installing but once it had done its been problem free thus far. I hope this helps your problem.

I downloaded the demo today. Whenever I launch the .exe file directly there are no fps issues, game runs smooth. I run Overlord thru Steam and the game stutters like crazy.

Btw, what are your PC specs? The store page states that Overlord doesn't support all integrated graphics cards. That may be the issue. Make sure the game detects your dedicated graphics card.

Just gonna put this out there - I tried running the demo for Overlord 1 via Steam with an integrated Intel card and the game ran terrible (constant stuttering like I said earlier). When I ran the game directly from .exe file without Steam, Overlord ran fine. Yeah, it ran fine with an Intel HD 2500 graphics card (at 720p). I beat the demo in one sitting once I ran the .exe directly. So ymmv

well i have a decent pc with a ryzen 5 and 4gb of ddr4 ram so i dont think that my pc specs

It can't be your specs, you're right. Overlord is an old game with very light system requirements.

Have you tried making a desktop shortcut of the launcher for Overlord? That worked for me.

Launch the game directly rather than through the configuration option.

1. Steam
   
2. Library
   
3. Overlord
   
4. Play
   
5. Launch Overlord

For some reason it doesn't like being launched through the other way; at least from what I've experienced. GLHF

try just saving it then when it closes launch it
