Can't eat the slugs

I can not eat the slugs at all. Whenever I get to a slug I click and the game makes the eating noise. But the slug never disappears. I have sat there and tried clicking on it about 20 times but nothing happens. I followed a guide to all 20 slugs locations and this happened on all of them. Trying to figure out if this is a bug or if I am doing something wrong. I have all of the items in the game and all achievements except the weird ending and the slugs.

make sure you're not vegan

found the vegan, while your at it go kiss some eggs

Having Vegan on was the issue. I was able to get the last achievement. Thanks.
