Can't upgrade weapons

I press y to upgrade my weapons while in the tab menu while having the amount of resources needed, and it doesn't do anything. Did i miss a tutorial or something? Like am i supposed to be in a specific area to upgrade my stuff? or is this a bug, anyone else have this issue?

Yup v worked, I just was being small brained, didn't even think to try pressing v for some reason. Thank you lmao.
