If you don't understand the difference between 1 and 2 I really can't help you there. Swapping a gender is different than having two entirely different genders/sprites/story etc. Not to mention just about any open world story game that has allowed for gender choice tends to have a worse, generic story than something like Witcher 3 with an actual character at the helm.
I have no issues with the game being completely same with just a cosmetic change, i'm not expecting branching dialogues from the game or anything.
and this is why i did not buy i loved the demo added to wish list then this choice was made so i am no longer going to be picking this up best of luck to this game though !!!!!!!!
