The soundtrack here is maybe not bad but ONE for whole game... The graphics look of course better than those of the old games we are talking about but also not really modern... Its OK - but not more.
I still appreciate that its good old Shadow Dancer style - even including the statue of liberty :-D - and principally like the game but one factor in the end lets the anger overweigh the fun for me sadly: that difficulty that is close to an impertinence - especially regarding the bosses and already the first one. Surely a tool to expand the gameplay-time in a way I not so really like. I mean, it of course should be a challenge - but a fair one that not makes me angry so frequently and over and over again repeat the same things. That the hardest difficulty is as good as impossible we dont need to talk about ("crimson ninja") but I played easy mode first and thought its normal mode. Then after lots of attempts I reached the final boss and could at highest empty two thirds of the energy-bar - after lots of attempts. And every time the last continue is gone you have to play the two levels before again. So I started to play in normal mode just to sense its even harder - and beat the third boss with the last energy of my last life of the last continue. Then getting kicked down the abyss over and over again by red ninjas in factory and so on. I not even feel the lust to play on with that difficulty-mode. And Im also not sure if I want to finish the two last levels several times at "easy" mode just to get ♥♥♥♥♥♥ by the boss again then that is hardly to attack in his last phase because he only jumps around and spams dragons... :-/ Damn, I hardly can finish one of these bonus-levels here!
No, no, no, good potential and basic-fun but that difficulty ruins it a little bit for me.
Shadow Dancer - I played it on Sega Mega Drive/Genesis - was already very difficult - but I managed to finish it. THIS here is even harder and I doubt to ever finish it... :-/
But at least here you more often have to draw your Katana or Kick/Punch than in Shadow Dancer were usually the Shuriken were enough.
PS: Well, in the end I managed to finish the final boss on "rising ninja" after about 40 tries and with the second-last continue and at least made it to the palace on "ninja"-difficulty - but my nerve-bar was empty then... ;-/
