Pirate's Treasure - Chapter 3 silver and gold puzzle
I'm not sure how this puzzle is possible with the pieces that cannot be moved. If all the rows and columns need to have the same number of gold and silver pieces, they all need 3 gold and 3 silver each. The first and third rows have unmovable pieces all in the same colour so naturally, the other pieces in that same row much be another colour.

As far as I can see, there's no way to arrange the second row so that it has 3 gold, 3 silver, and not have three of the same colours touching each other. Has anyone managed to complete this puzzle without skipping? Am I reading the directions incorrectly?

The puzzle is really easy and straight forward, you must be overthinking it. I can't remember it exactly, I barely stopped at it, but the second row definitely doesn't force you to have three of the same kind in a column since the fixed elements in the first and third rows were different.

If I remember correctly the second row is the exact opposite of the first one.

I wouldn't be surprised if I was overthinking it since most of these puzzles are fairly simple. I wasn't talking about three of the same kind in a column though? Thanks for the tip, I'll try again.

So it turns out I was misreading the directions. When it said 3 of the same colours touching, it meant 3 of the same colours in a straight row or column, not any three of the same colours touching. So imagine 4 blocks in a square of all the same colour except one - I thought that wasn't allowed because technically three of the same colours were touching.

I had this exact same issue before I realised it was 3 in an adjoining row.
