Let's be honest: If I don't like that genre, should I pass on this?

Is the difficulty not adjustable?

i don't think it's adjustable. it's hard and you gotta be patient, but so far the AI seems a bit easy to cheese.: attack, roll away, repeat.

Hey Andrew,

Difficulty isn't adjustable in Morbid.
If you're not sure yet, gameplay streams and video reviews tend to give a very good representation of the content and how the game plays. You get a real 'feel' for it in videos.
If you're still not sure and had any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

Thanks!

I think I may give it a shot.

How does saving progress work?

The game saves on key-points through your journey, and you may save when you get to a Shrine yourself.
So in a typical souls-like fashion, there are Shrines that work as checkpoints :)

The combat is far easier than Dark Souls, the game gives a lot of save points and I don't think you lose anything on death. You can definitely like this even if you don't like Souls games.
