Hey Loladas!

Thanks for reaching out.
As you defeat enemies, you gain experience and automatically level up.
These levels give you points to spend on upgrading your blessings, which you should be able to access once you beat Lorn the Blind.

Hope this helps :)

No problem Ezenkrul.
Glad this helped!

Lorn the Blind... guess I still have to continue further until I am able to level up.

Big dude on the bridge with the scimitar. Can't miss him...literally, you have to beat him to progress :D
You're already levelling up though. Don't worry, the EXP and levels you've gained already will be useable soon.

Thanks!

Are skill points the same system?

Ben thank you for providing us with this info games a blast so far!

Hey,

Shot - yes, levelling gives you skill points. These are the points you can use to upgrade blessings.

Kovacs - No problem. Glad to hear you're enjoying the game!

Thanks

I'm really enjoying the game, but still a bit stuck on what *specifically* leveling does to your stats?

I'm level 37 and just became Exalted. I haven't observed any increase in health, stamina, attack, defense, i-frames, etc. when I level up. My increase in strength is exclusively through blessings and micro-managing my weapons and their runes.

It would be great if there was a small bump across all of these different attributes per level to provide a greater sense of progression and strength. Like literally even one point.

You have to use skill points to upgrade cards, and then you have to equip those cards for them to have the modifier on stats, like health bar increase

Yes, I understand that, as I described in my initial comment:

"My increase in strength is exclusively through blessings and micro-managing my weapons and their runes."

I'm assuming when you say "cards" you mean blessings.

Hey Jdmccoy7,

Thanks for the feedback.
At the moment, your character development is focused entirely around your gear, your Blessings and your skill. Levelling doesn't inherently improve your 'stats'.
This is all by design but I'll raise the feedback about adding small bonuses with each level to the developer :).

Thanks.

Initially I was put off by the automatic level up, being one of those players who runs games like this without leveling, or without healing, without whatever etc., At first I thought my maximum life, stamina and damage dealing stats would increase on every level up, which had me put the game down to take a look at the forums to find out how I can prevent it.

However, it appears that there is no forced "overpowered" state, with stat allocation being linked to gear and item loadouts.

Nothing worse than becoming overpowered imo. Would love to see a legit "hard mode", challenge modes and challenge items added to extend the replay and appreciation for the game.

How about a mode where your maximum life, stamina and damage potential is reduced.

This is because those who love the game the most will not want to put the game down once they have mastered normal playthrough, and NG+ doesn't generally provide a significant challenge considering you carry all the gear and powerups.

NG+ is certainly a good idea, but if you combine with that other hardcore mechanics, you increase the potential.

How about a "cursed altar" near the start, that you can activate to curse yourself with rusted weapons and damaged stats. This kind of thing necessitates reliance on the mechanics, which I think this game does quite well.

How do I understand from the game that I need to beat something to spend my points? No clues!

There is a tutorial book that explains this. I admit however, it could have been placed better.
