The game doesn't really indicate this very well - it only unlocks after a scene plays out elsewhere, and you don't actually need to head back inside the bar after that.
I rushed through the second playthrough, so I didn't really pay attention to *when* it happened - I just made sure to check every optional location before progressing the plot - and thus I can't tell you *exactly* when it appeared, but if you keep checking back at the bar before advancing each step of the plot, you should come across it.
Did you have to re-solve all of the clues, or were the ones you previously solved already items to pick up when you investigated?
As omega64 already indicated, I had to replay the entire chapter from start to finish.
It did go much quicker just from knowing the puzzles and spamming the A button to rush through the story. As a rough estimate, my original playthrough of this case took about 4 hours, while the replay took a little over 2 hours.
FWIW, I haven't finished Case 4 yet, so I'm not sure if this issue can also happen there.
The puzzle itself was: a Speaker.
Also, this was in the Switch version, so take it with a grain of salt.
She is speaking about her past (why she is know from the justice) and that unlock a puzzle too ! :)
I did the S.
I think there's a reasonably simple fix. Since it is possible (I did it twice) to solve the case without encountering the puzzle, put in a line after the final scene about "You solved the case, but missed one clue. Click now to solve it."
- Go to \Users\{your-username}\AppData\LocalLow\Mediatonic\Murder by Numbers
- Open MemoryProgress.txt
- Set the value in "CaseRanks":[x,x,x,x] where index of a number is the chapter. Use 6 for "S" rank, e.g. "CaseRanks":[6,6,6,6] would set "S" rank for all cases (likely you don't want that before you finish each chapter)
Hope that helps!
