Should I play Second Term before this?
I want to try this series. I see people saying Camp makes a lot of references to events in Prom, so I get that it's important to play Prom first. But what about Second Term, specifically? If I just want to play these games without a deep exploration of everything I could do, could I just get the Monster Prom base game and play that and then play Camp? Please share your opinion.

You do not need to play Second Term before this. I would argue that you do not even need to play Monster Prom before this. It is true that Monster Camp references events from Monster Prom, but only in the most vague, general way, and considering the number of events in these games, you would need to play Monster Prom for hundreds of hours to see every event in that game, just on the off-chance that one of them would be referenced in Monster Camp. I personally feel that Second term is well worth playing if you like the Monster Prom series, but it is in no way required to enjoy the other games.

The devs have done the impossible in making multiple games that exist in the same universe where you don't need to know what's gone on before.

I wouldn't bother, it's just a bunch of they/themming losers playing D&D around a campfire and whinging about racism and gender issues. It's about as funny and entertaining as a basket full of dead puppies.

The game even comes with a trigger warning up front promising not to hurt your tender feelings and everybody with the ''wrong'' opinion is evil. That's no basis for a game.

Then don't play it.

You actually have an option to turn off references to Prom.
