If you're gonna oversimplify that much, in the previous game we had Scott, Princess Scott and Drunk Scott. Dahlia and Aaravi, while sharing some of their traits with Damien, are vastly different from him.
1) That was at first, without the stretch goals. Monster Camp has as much content as Monster Prom on release. Current plan (could be subject to change depending on various factors during development) is that Monster Retreat and Monster Roadtrip would come out as a single game the same price as Prom.
2) The game is insanely cheap. Are you really complaining that a game with dozens of hours of gameplay is too expensive when it only costs as much as 3 Big Macs?
1) "The sequel is... something different. It's 3-games-in-1. Because we weren't sure which kind of vacations to take, we chose 3: Summer Camp, Winter Retreat and Roadtrip. So each game is smaller than the original one, but they're the same size when put together. And each time you play, you can choose which game suits you better that time. " Literal description from their kickstarter page. If that's not the case, I didn't see something else on their kickstarter page / FAQ section.
Also only this one is a dating sim, the other 2 are not, therefor you can't date the best peeps, polly and scott.
Personally I liked Damien and Milo. Dahlia and Aaravi just felt too similar to Damien. Calculester is ok but not my type. Joy just felt boring and meh. Also the dialog in this game is often too stretch out and just doesn't flow as fast when you play with multiple people and can get quite boring. But that's just my oppinion.
2) That's subjective. If you live in western europe or US/Canada sure. Not so much if you live in Eastern Europe. Also for me it's not a good value because of the content (aka romances). I don't want to romance most of the cast, while in the first one, the cast was more diverse, and more fun to chase after someone else every game, hence higher replayability. This is subjective, of course, you may like all the cast in which case sure it's worth it for you.
