Let me know if this solves the issue.
I saw that last night after posting my message and did reload the game as I was in the Steam Client still when I wrote my message out. I had the same result trying to switch windows (to the Steam Client and back to the game) while inside the game and switch back. LS still moved, Start brought up the menu, but A button refused to let me interact with anything.
Can you send us your save, and the files player.log and player-prev.log? You'll find them in C:\Users\YOUR USER\AppData\LocalLow\Louqou\TravellersRest

I'm using the Cloud Save option for the game and the save is not stored locally. I'll double check for the files though however I am on highly metered internet and it just reset yesterday for a new month so I might have to wait until end of the month for this. Computer updates take priority each month over video game stuff and anything else :(
Edit: Oddly your game has a local save file stored still despite the cloud save where other games I've played don't store a local save. The files were all also very small so I could safely send them without worrying about my monthly bandwidth limit being drained much before the big computer updates this month. All 3 files were sent via email (I don't use Discord) and I included a link to this forum post as a reference to the issue.
The issue was resolved though in the last patch it seemed as well as another issue I was going to report about Rosemary not showing in my Food Prep station despite the fact I've had a recipe that required it all this time.
