Story Mode?
When will there be a story to this game outside of just selling items and beer?

thats the roadmap, no timeline other than early (Q1) 2025 for multiplayer.

Story mode is in 'very long term' plans of that roadmap... that's a shame. Still waiting for them to finally add it. The only feature of all of them I really want lol

Same. I feel like they were really focusing hard on the multiplayer since it takes a ton of work and requires a lot of bug fixing. Story end of year maybe?

I wish they developed the game to be more solid before focusing on multiplayer.

I agree, but in the dev's defense I will admit that the people wanting multiplayer were pretty vocal.

At the end of the day in these situations it's almost always a lose-lose for the developer. If they added in other things then multiplayer they'd get complaints there isn't online multiplayer for that duration.
Instead they built up a nice foundation and then some before getting online multiplayer working. They get complaints story mode is taking longer. Ultimately it's a lot better for them to integrate it at this stage because of complications.

Let's say they added everything in then online play, but because of that there's a ton of reworking they need to do to make online play work right. That's easily avoided by adding in the online play now so they can work in the rest of the content to work smoothly with online play. Ultimately this way could reduce overall development time.

It's a good thing they added multiplayer before adding more story content, the earlier in a project you add multiplayer the easier it is to not have it break absolutely everything if you try to add it later on meaning shorter dev time to get it working. As an added bonus the rest of the stuff on their roadmap is stuff that takes a lot less time to develop than multiplayer so unless the devs take a break, once multiplayer bugs are ironed out the rest should come fast.
Hi, guys. I have no knowledge at all about the intricacies of programming and simply thought that it would've been harder to keep tweaking online multiplayer with each additional content they added. So thank you all so much for explaining the development process in a very informative way. Now I understand that there's nothing to worry about.

I really love this game. I'm always hoping for the best on its continued development.
