How to fire staff?

What the title says. I knew in earlier versions we were able to fire staff and then rehire them. How can I fire staff now? I tried right and left click, shift click but nothing seems to work.

From the Workers tab you can uncheck the "Working" box and this will make the employee not come to work this day if you open the tavern.
If you want to replace them with a different one, go to the notice board outside the tavern and just click the profile of the new employee you want to get. You will get a confirmation prompt telling you you already got someone on that position and are you sure you wanna replace them. Mind you, once you replace them, you can't get them back (at least from what I see).
So if you just want them to take some unpaid leave so to speak, do the unchecking of "Working" box.

You don't fire and rehire like you used to. As mentioned if you check their working box they come when you open and leave when you close. Be mindful of firing them, especially if they have some good traits
