Guest room - how to build rooms to rent?

We are playing mulitplayer but can´t build the guest room as the door cannot be placed. What do we have to do? Thanks for any help!

I had this same issue when I first played. I decided to replicate the starter guest room you get after the tutorial in the beginning, which is 3x3 blocks in size. I ended up making some rooms bigger to accommodate certain guests. Hopefully that helps.

Occasionally a guest wants a 20 square foot room (4x5 or similar). I don't think guests ask for anything bigger than that, although my rooms are bigger. Bigger rooms directly increase satisfaction (and rep) and also allow more decor to be placed in the room further increasing rep.
3x3 works well to start, but as you add rooms be sure to leave enough space to later enlarge your old rooms. At least 5 wide.
