buying candles on sunday

so the market is shut on sundays. is there any other way to get candles or do i just need to suck it up? i'm pretty sure not having candles bothers the customers

Keep a few in a chest in your tavern. You don't need to buy them one by one as they go out.

If you have a housekeeper they will charge you 3 or so silver each and place them as needed.

Y'all don't carry candles around with you..? Inventory slot 0 is the candle slot. I buy candles every time I go shopping, whatever I can afford. As many as I can carry to 99.

Yah it's dumb. But it isn't. I never have to worry about it. I hit them right after the O button to open. hi-lite them in the inventory. F and place, F and place. Candles done in 10 seconds and no worries.

And yes, candles on the tables are a must. Don't bother with walls unless you like them, candelabras as well. They're all for show. Only candles on the tables matter to the peeps and they want them, need them and will dock your rep if they don't have them.

After you go from paper coasters to cork coasters, you can take the paper ones and put them on the tables under the candles or candle holders. It looks nice and you can keep the comfort from the paper coasters to pimp your rep...

You have a housekeeper, Doc? She'll place candles in empty holders at the start of her shift and she'll refill them as soon as one runs out! :) Four silver is charged when she places a new candle and you will never have to worry about table candles ever again. ^_^ Paper coasters under candles is a good idea by the way!

I do, but she has better things to do than spend my money and wander around the dining room.

I got 8 rooms and orders from open. Not only do I do the candles as I always have I also help her in the rooms cleaning.

Doing the candles is one of those gear shifts I have to make to clear the slate and get ready for the next thing.

It helps orient me to the tasks ahead and ushers in the next part of the day.

I highly recommend it. It takes no time at all and your help stays doing things that make you cash instead of doing things you can handle in a fraction of the time.

About the Sunday, you can always close the tavern early, because the costumers only start to complain (and you loose reputation) at night time. If you close by 19:00 and go to sleep, you can buy them at Monday.

If you like cheese... You can open and close more than once a day. Get the room full, get everybody served, close, get the Rep, reopen and repeat.

I'm kinda hoping they make it so you can open twice, but not 10 times a day.... but given the grind they want I can see why people enjoy this particular type of cheese.

Rep happens on close as they leave. No matter when you close or when they leave....

I've leveled in the middle of the day. I think you get rep when each customer leaves. When you close a bunch leave at once, so it is a big rep boost all at once, so we often level at closing time.

Your cheese still works - they eat/drink faster during last call so it will get you much faster turnover.

Oh absolutely you level during the day. It's why I work the bar and sell food to move the line along. Faster they get served, faster they get out... They have a finite number of items to consume, so get them done and a new customer can come in.

This also gives a Rep boost as waiting time on the bar or at the table matters...

The cheese is that you get a whole room of Rep at a time as opposed to the individual customers coming and going throughout the day...

For light and warmth it does. Cleanliness will affect rep any time of day of course.
