Question about apiaries

You get queen bees by chopping trees. Once you've got your first queen bee you'll get a letter in the mail from Woody. He will sell you the bluprints.

FYI, it can take a lot of trees to get a queen - it is RNG with low probability for a queen bee drop. Sometimes you'll get a bee after 2-4 trees, other times it takes over 50 trees. The trees need to be full grown, but do not need to be any older than that.

i've chopped over 100+ trees now and you know how many Bees i got? 5. so yeah its a RNG XD, managed to do 5 basic Apiaries and now i need like 10 more to get the maximized version of 5 XD

Someone said a small apiary gives one honey and one beeswax every four days.
The large apiary gives one honey and one beeswax every day, while taking three bees.

I don't know how well the medium performs, but the large takes three times as many bees as the small, and produces four times as much honey.
