VIP quest not appearing

My calendar keeps showing that on day X there will be a VIP guest. but when day X comes, i don't see anyone special? it happened 3 times already. what am I missing?

VIP has a star on his head.
There's no notification that it's here.
If the reputation is doubling than usual, VIP is here.
Or if the VIP is past 3 a.m. the day before they come, they don't come the next day.

thanks for the reply, but yeah, I've never seen one with a star. do you know if is there anything that can "summon" them/ condition? or i'm supposed to only hope they come on a marked day?

Only on the marked day.

Understand the marked day starts at *midnight*, not at "when you open".

If you stay open past midnight day before, the star personage may enter and then leave when you close.

You think they are coming tomorrow.

They are already come and gone.

It doesn't make sense, but it does make sense.

Close before midnight the day before.

Even that isn't a guarantee... BUt at least you have created the best possible chance for double Rep success.

I have this problem too sometimes.

I always close the tavern be 11pm when the next day has a star. I can check the calendar after midnight and the star is still there. Then I go to bed, and when I get up the star is gone (or usually moved to a later date on the calendar). I don't get double rep, and there is no one with a star.

It doesn't always happen, but it does happen in bursts. After it happens once, it will happen a few more times, and then I'll go back to getting VIPs for a while. The periods with VIPs last longer than the periods when they are broken, so I'd guess VIPs work right about 3/4 of the time for me.

Exiting/reloading the game doesn't appear to fix it.

I haven't complained because I have no idea how to recreate it, but there is still a bug there somewhere.

the long standing suggestion has been in bed before midnight, not just closing the bar. i've been doing that and its always worked. of course it could also just be confirmation bias.

The problem used to be the VIP would pop in after midnight, and then wouldn't come back the next day. Next time I'm in a streak of it not working, I'll try going to bed earlier.

This is a me too. I usually will quit the save file and go to the main menu. Once I reload the file the next VIP day works. It is a bit buggy as it only happens on an off chance.
