comfort level while decorating

I was trying out the new decoration objects and placed table cloths on all the tables in my tavern. But after placing some, instead of getting higher the comfort level went down!?
Is this supposed to work like that? Because if yes, thats pretty restrictive in my opinion...

The amount of comfort gained from an item goes down with each repeated placement (to avoid things like placing 50 rugs to spam comfort), but it should never go down unless you're removing things that brought variety to the room.

When standing in your dining area, entering build mode will show the comfort level in the bottom right corner. It is also shown at all times when in rented rooms.

thank you for your answer! I figured that the amount goes down, so you cant spam the same item over and over. I was just wondering, because it went from 181 to 180 after placing another table cloth... I wanted every table to look the same, but with the comfort level going down like that I'll have to switch them up or make a room with another look idk..

Yeah, it looks like someone threw up assorted colors / styles of rugs and tablecloths all over my dining room. But my comfort is over 700.

I have a Christmas area on the left side of my dining room, with a lot of Christmasy stuff. In the middle I have aquariums and beachy stuff. And on the right it is Halloween themed.
