Yes. The fact that as Tavern owner it's your responsibility to keep the kegs filled.... ?B)
The chest you refer to is the kegs and taps. That is the storage system for your drinks.
That's the game really. Like the whole game. MAke stuff and keep the 4 taps and 4 kegs (...and the chest under the bar for food...) full. It's like the whole point, everything else you do is to get stuff in there.

If you restock everything up to 30 every night, they will rarely run out . (And I've never run out of more than 2 of the 8 drinks>)
I'm usually open from about 9am until about midnight. If you run longer hours, you might need to pop in in the middle of the afternoon to restock everything.
I also make sure I have at least 30 of each of my favorite food items in the menu before opening (or shortly after). It has been a long time since I've run out of them.
That might work for me later, thank you for the tip, currently I have two kegs and what i can put in the tap on, which is honestly on me, I think I ran a little too fast ahead at the beginning
