Customer's Rarely Get Food
I've noticed that the food I make keeps piling up in my menu, but rarely do people ever get food... It makes it feel kinda pointless to even HAVE food on the menu. Surely this isn't an intended feature? I feel like customer's should mostly be ordering food and get drinks the longer they sit.

Currently for every 10 orders 9 of which would be from the tap or the keg instead of food. Its frustrating to make enough money to be able to pay the salary of my workers if i include juices that cost under 3 silver. This is making me not put anything but grand reserves on the tap. I dont think this was an issue in the patches before the recipe overhaul and should also be looked into. Thank you

i've seen this posted a few times, so i did an informal experiment; i counted.

Rep level 15, capacity about 30, all 8 drink dispensers with different drinks, 3 full rows of food items (30+?) for 2 hours (1430-1630).

10 drinks, 16 food items.

this seems pretty consistent throughout the day, but im not sitting and counting a full days work.
I must say, I've seen this posted around as well, but I have not noticed it myself, it seems normal to me. I keep having to move food items from chests into the menu to fill gaps throughout the day...

The majority of the orders I get are drinks, as well. I am glad there is no spoilage in this game, because I've got 7 different dishes just sitting in the ledger, waiting to be picked. Thankfully the customers love water lol

I think they order food and drinks about equally when they first come. But then they just keep asking for more drinks, and I don't have that many drinks, since even the weakest beer has to be aged now.

If a barrel runs empty, the bartender puts water in it. And then all the customers order water. My complaint is how biased the customers are for cheap items. Almost no one wants the more expensive food and drinks.

Same here. If i have drinks in the taps/kegs thats what they order. Damn thirsties go through my entire supply in a matter of hours while the food sits there. And it doesnt appear to be pricerelated since they do this irregardless of the price of drinks on offer....ive just hired a bartender and now its just water being served....

You really need to start watching your bartender and your bar.

Watch how they do the job. You will see why food doesn't seem to move well.

Food goes out fine until there's a drink order. The tender then goes to drinks. If another customer comes with a drink order, they will then continue to get the new drinks.

That means the 3 food customers at the counter will wait. And wait. And wait. And wait. It kills your reputation as this is one of the easiest ways to boost it a little.

What starts as a second to fill a food order becomes a waiting game as they watch the tender get 5 drinks for the wait staff and two drinks for the bar while that first patron at the bar that kicked it all off with the drink order waits for *all of it*.

When you add to that the fact patrons will not leave their tables until a spot on the bar is clear, it is paramount you keep opening spaces so they can approach the bar. Watch them enter and go sit at a table. They will wait there until their spot opens up. If you have to close before they get served, you lose. MOney. Rep. All of it.

Get on your bar, especially the last 2 or 3 hours of the day. Work the bar doing the food side. Let the tender tend to the drinks, just ship every food order immediately.

Compare this to times when you just watch the waiting game where a full bar at busy time can mean patrons waiting eons for food orders. That kills your Rep.

Food sells just fine. It just gets bottle necked at the point of sale so it can't literally get out the door.

Hope this helps you move some foodage..!

Cheers..!

Unfortunately, the issue with the drinks happens even when I'm the bartender and i can prioritise who to serve. Even the damn guests int he bedroom only order drinks if those are on offer. Right now ill be firing my bartender and just man that station myself or else ill turn the entire town into alcoholics and we dont want that.

Mine were doing the same thing so I removed all drinks from the kegs. Now they only get food.

I don’t have a bartender, or a waiter. I’m playing on low level rep. I have two rows of food items, and only 1 of every 15 customers orders food of any kind. If I have no drinks, they don’t come at all.

I restarted my game and I've also noticed that the customers don't order food as much as they order drinks. If there are no drink options, then they will just keep ordering food. At this point, I find it frustrating to keep making more drinks when I have a pile of food. Also, customers who rent the rooms tend to order more drinks than food.

Started a new game, had porridge, grilled meat, meat/fish/veg broth. cooked seafood, roasted fish on the food menu.

Juices from fruits i foraged and Lager on the tap/keg

And guess what they ordered for 3 whole days I'm tending to the bar early game?

They only order food when the drinks run out.

Something went wrong and isn't working as intended

Got the same issue :( I tried removing all the drinks and then they do actually only order food, up until the damn bartender fills the keg with water! All they want then is water. I've tried to remove the water at least 10 times and she just keeps on adding it until she glitches out and the game crashes.

It's really frustrating at this point because all the customers do for the ENTIRE week is drinking the trendy drinks and refusing to touch the trendy food.

I think everyone who's still running an old save is doing fine, I remember before I restarted for the story update I always struggled to stock food, but now it just sucks... It's so hard to progress when they only order drinks!
