sounds like me an issue on your end. a reinstall might help. though it seems like you're too far gone to consider that, but if not, try it.
i also haven't had any issues with broken saves either, and i have about twice the hours in the game than you. a reinstall might help.
stardew valley is first game that comes to mind. graveyards keeper ever so slightly maybe.
Also a reinstall does nothing more than what you would get from a simple file integrity check, and from experience with several steam games stop functioning properly after an update i got into habit to make file integrity scans after each update. But just for the sake of proving you wrong i made a reinstall aaaaaaaaaaaand .....nothing changed what a surprise.
since i haven't encountered any bugs that you have, you could always just try playing with k&m, i never understood the appeal of using controllers on PC games. though i suppose it's just personal preference.
could always try a new save, or just give up and leave the game since it seems like you're frustrated enough and don't want to try to figure it out. theres a discord with active devs/players for troubleshooting, as well as a bug forum that you can post in.
There are a couple of games that cover crafting, farming and world exploration like Stardew Valley or Coral Island (also in EA) with a focus on farming / decoration. My Time at Portia or Graveyard Keeper focus more on world exploration / crafting.
If you are looking for nother tavern sims you may want to take a look at Crossroads Inn or Tavern Master.
Cult of the lamb
Moonstone Island
Dave the diver
Roots of pacha
Len's Island
but it's early access
Also I should mention that I know of a game about running a restaurant that comes out soon, turns out sooner than I thought, its Cuisineer that comes out next month.
It's been sitting in my backlog of games for eons. I played for an hour but was too busy with another game. Looks fun.
