Flavor combinations and trending?

Are there any combinations of food ingredients that are more popular than others? I've noticed that sometimes an item like sausages will sell rapidly and sometimes they won't, and this is irrespective of trends. For instance, sausages were't trending either time, just one night the customers went through a whole stack, and the the replacement stack sat around for 3 days. I've also seen foods that sell much faster than the ones that are currently trending. I'm wondering how important trending is, and if having more ingredients in a particular recipe will make it sell better.

Note that not only the types of food can be trending. The ingredients can be trending too!

I do not know anything beyond that. It might be that random number generator produced your specific result.

I believe - and this is pure speculuation based on my personal experience - that customers tlooove to try out new things: Whenever I put out a new food, they go for the new thing first. Same with the drinks that go into the ledger. However this might be due to the new items being more expensive and thus "better"?
