Free the miner?

Has anyone figured out how to free the frozen miner? Is it in game yet? I want the miners to work for me dammit

i think he's gonna be free when the snow melt , so with next after december update . Just my guess

Haven't figured it out. It's not like you can put a torch or furnace there to melt the ice. No explosives available, either. I kept thinking the other miners would engage in some dialogue to get things moving, but no such luck.

To free him hasn't been put into the game yet, I believe. It's most likely a future update feature that hasn't been put in place yet. There's a small story line going on with the frozen miner and the three at the camp that develops further with each update. We just have to be patient.
