Stuck in Construction Mode

Loving this game so far. I'm playing on the Steam Deck and get stuck in construction the first time I open it. I created the room upstairs but when I try to set it as a Crafting Room it tells me 'Maximum number o zones reached'. I cannot progress the tutorial because it won't complete the zoning and I cannot back out of construction mode. Any ideas?

Same for me. I had to wait until the dialogue was finished before I started building in construction mode.

I was impatient and reloaded from last save. I did not get stuck the 2nd time through the construction tutorial. Thanks for your reply!

Just experienced the same issue and came to this post. Turns out I'd hit the right (or left) trigger at some point and was no longer selecting the correct option... so the tutorial wouldn't let me go ahead or cancel out of it. Luckily I realised after the old "press every button" trick. Just use the left and right trigger to select the crafting zone again.

I think it took me so long to realise partly because the controller options get reversed in construction mode (right stick / left stick get flipped for panning vs moving the cursor), and also because it wasn't obvious that I'd selected the invalid option (and why can I select it if I can't use it?). Anyway, hope this helps anyone who is stuck before they have to reload their save!

I had the same issue, but couldn't figure out how to get out of it because I changed some of my controls... so I closed it...

I’m having the same issue. I closed out of the game and redid the day. The second time I still got stuck. It wouldn’t do anything, I’ve pressed every button. Is there anything I should try before I restart my day?

At which step are you stuck? Can you take a screenshot?

Same issue. For me placing the decor in the guest room somehow removed the candle you are given to place and I also can't cancel the whole construction dialogue to try again

I got the same issue. Stuck at setting up the workarea.....if i try to place it, it says at max capacity....can't even leave the build mode. It's "interesting" that the bug is STILL arround after 2,5 years....it was kinda fun till now, but for the moment it's just Alt F4....

Any help available? I just follwed the tutorial to this point, not much to do wrong i'd guess?
