I also second this.
I passed out several times during reorganizing the tavern or thinking about what to make of my ingredients in a opened chest...
My suggestion would be to enter pause mode when (one of) the following criteria are met:
- browsing the catalogue (postbox outside)
- interacting with the postbox itself
- interacting with the notice board (hiring ppl, reading through quests, expanding the tavern...)
- interacting with any chest
- interacting with any crafting station (brewery, oven, mill and the like...)
The speed of the game is fine, but losing time and not having a moment to think things over brings unnecessary stress and hectic rush to a game what would be otherwise pretty relaxed (after hiring the bartender and other helpers)
Will be added in a patch was the respond back then.
Still never played it again since then, its simply just a hectic chore for me the way it is.
Honestly i would have refunded it if i would have known it most likely never will happen.
I agree with the previous speaker, I faint every time I rummage through the mailbox or when I'm in construction mode, not only do you throw all the guests out of the tavern and don't get any reputation points, the next day there are also many hours missing, which is pretty bad
+1, I absolutely agree. The speed at which time passes is just right for the normal things you do in game such as serving behind the bar, working in the back, farming, etc. However in menus spending some time thinking, finding or selecting particular ingredients, scrolling through lists, etc. will cost you hours of the day incredibly quickly.
This led to my crafting heuristic being: Use trending ingredient(s) then use whatever I'm not low on and whatever is adjacent to it with no care of what it is; the key objective is to
get the menu closed ASAP. If the trending ingredients system or ingredient flavours system gets expanded upon (please!) then this issue will become even more detrimental to the experience.
Time pause in menus has already been added.

Except time doesn't pause when you're in the build menu - that's what we want. Trying to design your Tavern and not pass out because you've spent the whole day fine tuning everything the way you want it, is a monumental pain in the ass. We have so many customization options, but are forced to decorate fast otherwise we lose a full day, or more.
