Tired of being called a cultist.
To preface all of this, I am around 10hrs in at the moment so if I am suggesting something that is already in the game or suggested to be added in a future update via character dialog, I apologize.
> Hats
To add onto the idea previously mentioned, it would be very cool to add more customization to make player models stand out slightly. While heading into town, I saw a mysterious stranger looking guy with a cool hat and trench coat and thought it would be sick to have some sort of tailor in town where you could buy customization options or something similar.
I cut my suggestion down to hats since I am sure it would be a big ordeal to add something like full on outfits that'd be an item to equip, but if its reasonable and possible, please do!
> Panning for Gold
The southern region already has its share of NPC's at the moment, but it would be interesting to have some way to sift for items in the sand. Similar to using the shovel on sand, it would be cool to replace that with designated points on the beach that randomly spawn that could net you an item from a randomized list if you use a sifter, gold to sell, or even a special currency you can use to buy things from others. Maybe Wilson lost some of his seals in the sand. Would explain why he's often staring at the sand.
> Bard for Pay
I think it would add to the experience a bit if you could hire a bard for a high price that scales to the tavern level and would last for a day or two. To justify the high price, it would guarantee a sizable uptick in customers for that timeframe they're in the tavern for. This would add some level of risk management, as you can hire them regardless, but you will pay dearly in reputation if you aren't prepared for the temporary shift.
You can reconfigure the keys in settings. (Although I haven't tried changing the sprint key. Maybe it isn't in settings?)
> Sort Inventory ! The messy inventory in this game is the bane of my borderline-OCD existence. It's not very easy either rearranging it manually so a way to auto sort would have me kissing your feet.
The devs added a lot of support for this in the last year. You can sort each chest. You can deposit like items into a chest, allowing you to quickly dump inventory by just opening each chest and dumping like items.
>Crafting Range. Inventory is a huge issue for my game enjoyment. I can't use as many ingredients as I wish I could because my inventory is irreparably full and it dampers my experience a lot. I'd love it if there was a way to connect the crafting stations to chests sitting beside it like the fridge is connected kitchen in Stardew Valley. That way, you'd click say, the brewer, and get a pop up that's your inventory + whatever is in the chest sitting next to it. It'd expand the ingredients I can use and diminish all the tedious back and forth !
All chests in the kitchen are available to all crafting stations in the kitchen. The crafting stations will auto pull from the chests in the area.
>More decor. I have no doubt this is something that will be expanded upon, but I really wanna stress how important decorations are to me. They're personally my main motivation to even be making money in the first place and I think adding some more options at the earlier convenience would improve the longevity of the playing the Early Access !
While in the main room of the tavern, go into Build mode, and then look at the lower right corner of your screen. You'll see a number that reflects decor. Multiples of the same item count for less (it only takes 4-5 for them to start adding zero).
Several of us have decor over 800. And that is with very few items from Wilson. If you really want decor, grind junk and use Wilson's stuff, plus Christmas stuff, plus Halloween stuff, plus a ton of rugs, plus all the regular decor.
> Make the magic brooms functional in the inn rooms. Please,,, I beg of you,,, people are so nasty,,,, let the magic brooms work upstairs.
Yes. FYI, they work in the upstairs hall, but several of us have been asking for this. I have a magic broom in each guest room in hopes that some patch will make them start working.
> Ranching + Fishing I don't doubt this is like, a hefty suggestion and something you guys haven't already thought of but, just wanted to express my heavy interest in this. I love having the option to buy meats and fish ! I just feel having the option to do it yourself would be super healthy to breakup the constant inn grind.
Talk to the farmer in the south west and he'll sell you barns and chicken coops. You can raise cows, lambs, and chickens. You can also raise bees for honey and wax. And talk to the goth gal on the dock at the beach to start fishing.
> More pets. I think this is just the gaping wound that Stardew left in my heart speaking but I'd really love,,, to fill my inn with just,,, so many pets,,,,,,,,, (I'm a hoarder, and this game caters to me so much because of it)
There is talk that a dog is coming.
> More patron dialogue. I adore it when they accuse me of being a cultist. I would have so much fun discovering all the different dialogues if there were some more. Minor but I feel it'd make a big difference to bring everything to life ! The sillier, the more my heart flutters.
> Auto hire the help. Mostly a personal gripe but I find it very tedious having to hire and rehire them over and over. An option for them to show up every morning at 8 and leave at midnight would really be a huge improvement in my opinion.
I'm not sure what you are doing here. When you open the tavern, the employees should show up. And when you close it, they should leave. No need to hire or fire them after initially hiring them.
+1 Also can we get linked storage containers? I sometimes buy extra ingredients thinking I don't have the ingredient/yeast based on the recipe but then I find it was in my extra storage chest the whole time...
Crafting stations can pull from storage containers in the same zone. So just move your chest with the ingredients into the right zone, or adjust the zone so it covers the chest.
Can I hire people to bring me firewood every day and do my shopping if I want? I would love to have an errand boy or townsfolk I can hire to help gather resources so that I can do the part of the game that I enjoy (cooking, making beer, and running the tavern).
Maybe this is already in the game and I just haven't gotten there after 20 hours of gameplay? If it is, I'm sure someone will let me know.
Also I would love to have storage for all crafting areas linked. I love the kitchen storage system and having the same perk for all connected crafting areas outside would be awesome.
There is no map, but there are not that many locations so it's not that hard to remember. West is Town to go shopping; North is the mountain, where you can get some extra ores and coal, and the cave where you buy recipes; and South is the most complex area: south then east takes you to a small clearing where you can meet the bird vendor if you go at the right time, south then west takes you to the farm where you can buy livestock, and going south from the farm takes you to the beach.
