Very Important Guest, bugged or not?

Hi folks,

I'm trying to figure out if i am doing something wrong with the very important guest quest. First time the guest was supposed to come, i forgot to sleep and there was a sound like i failed something when i woke up. The tick was gone for today but calender showed that guest will be coming 3 days later. So that day, i didn't overslept, stayed in the main room whole time to see if anything is different but nothing happened. After the day is over, now it shows that s/he will be arriving in 3 days, lol.

tldr: have you encountered the very important guest?

I'm not sure what exactly is supposed to take place but I never witnessed any "very important guest" The red dot just keeps moving on the calendar.

same here. Would be nice to get some messaging throughout the day as to when they are supposed to arrive, or at least a report about WHY the guest didn't show up. Did I do something wrong?

Yeah nothing's happened for me either, I thought it would be like a noble or something that was gonna rent a room but noone special has shown up at either day =p

They should have a star above their head if they show up....Mine showed up almost as soon as I opened the tavern for business.

I have had the red dot moved twice without anything happening during the original red date. Could it be bugged because I went to bed past midnight the day before?

UPDATE: I have since finally encounter the important guest. As mentioned by R.A.W.R., they have a star above their head and I got a pop up saying that they have arrived a few moments before they enter the tavern. I made sure to go to bed before the date changes the day before.

I can in fact confirm you must sleep before midnight the day before arrival, or it bugs and changes to a later date!

My important guest does show up, almost as soon as tavern opens. But nothing unusual happens except I might get a few extra satisfactory points upon closing.

My VIP showed up when I played yesterday and my person was up until 3am because I was trying to get the achievement for passing out done and over with :P I have had times where the VIP doesn't show though but it appears random when they don't and the date changes. I generally don't close the tavern until midnight and am in bed by 1am or later otherwise and the VIP is usually there but they have not shown up before randomly and I don't know why either.

While the VIP is in my tavern I notice the reputation points are generally +500-600 points where normally they are only around the +200 or so range for my current setup though.

there is a bug that sometimes hits (it does not always hit)

to avoid the bug, sleep before midnight the night before

the benefit is that people's satisfaction doubles for the duration of the starred person being inside the tavern

(satisfaction is the little green number that pops up when a guest leaves. or red if you were bad)

And your max. customers capacity will be full or almost during the day, wich means more profit too.
