What it needs is proper online multiplayer. Parsec/Steam Remote Play can add a large amount of latency if you don't live in the same state, you're playing on wifi, or your internet just isn't all that good.

+1 for online coop. For me and my friend Remote Play is a lottery. Sometimes perfect, sometimes unplayable. Didn't complete the game bcs of this.

stream remote play is NOT a fix to co-op, it's really janky and doesn't work well unless in the same country which entirely limits the experience to whoever you may find nearby which is just not on as ONLINE co-op, remote play kills discord calls and makes voice janky as all hell, it doesn't work that well with controller games as sometimes you need 2 local controllers to make things show up for the 2nd player's controller which is really bad and it's not an answer that's acceptable. It's a mess of an option at best and 90% doesn't work with nearly any game.

It's actually problematic that it's even thought as online co-op, the quality is beyond crap and should really be managed as a local hosted server instead, this actually works and allows long distance playing of the game compared to same country IF you can find someone from your country in the first place who likes the games you play.

the devs have said that they tried this it is why the dlc took so long and they couldn't do it better than steam play they did pretty good for a 2 developer team
