Frequently Asked Questions:

Is the game co-op or singleplayer?
Both! Heavenly Bodies has been designed to accommodate solo or local co-op play. Co-op is always going to be a sillier, funnier time, but we love playing both ways.

Can I play online?
Not at this time. Heavenly Bodies is local-coop only. However, there are some services which allow you to play remotely via streaming. These include Steam Remote Play on PC and Parsec on Mac and PC.

Do I need a controller to play?
No. However, we *highly* recommend the usage of a dual-analog joystick controller if you’re able to use one. If you’re unable to use one, we recommend enabling Toggle Grab Mode in the controls menu, and rebinding your keyboard and mouse controls where necessary to make it a comfortable experience.

Why isn't my controller working?
Please try enabling and configuring Steam Input: https://partner.steamgames.com/doc/features/steam_controller/getting_started_for_players. This fixes 99% of controller issues.

I can't get the game to start at all.
Sorry to hear this! There could be a variety of reasons such an issue. Check out our game startup troubleshooting page for some possible solutions.

How many players can play at a time?
You can play with up to two players at a time.

I’m finding the controls too challenging, what can I do to make it easier?
While Heavenly Bodies is designed to be a challenging experience, we understand that everyone has their own limits! You can try the ‘Assist’ control mode which allows you to move by pushing your arms in the direction you want to go. If this isn’t enough, we also recommend you try enabling ‘grab toggle’ in the control options menu to reduce the need to hold down the grab buttons.

I’m stuck, or cannot progress.
If you think you’re doing the right thing but cannot progress, we first suggest restoring the game from the last checkpoint. This will reset items to their starting place, but will broadly maintain your progress.
If you’re still unable to progress, we also recommend asking our helpful Discord[discord.com] community for assistance! Heavenly Bodies can be challenging, so it’s no shame to ask for a tip.
