This game runs HOT
My wife and I have been excited to play this game since we watched a Youtuber play the beta. She got it the day after it released and happily played it until Friday. We have the same exact laptop specifications and the game runs smoothly on our machines on medium, HOWEVER, her computer was running extremely warm. Then the problems came. All of a sudden, her laptop would not charge and when the cable was plugged in, it would flicker between charging and not. I ran through the typical things a repair tech would. I tested her charger with my laptop to rule out a broken charger, then tried my charger in her laptop since mine isn't OEM, still flickered. Took the computer apart and cleaned the fans and motherboard, still nothing. The game ran so hot that the charging port in the laptop warped. Yes, you read that right, warped. So now she's down an almost thousand dollar laptop because the optimization is terrible. I saw the Devs suggest lowering settings, closing background apps, etc. but I can assure you that does not matter if you do not have the recommended specs or better. I ran the game for 10 minutes with nothing going on in the background, at the lowest settings, and I couldn't believe how warm my system got. In my opinion, this game is not meant for people who do not higher end PCs. I would highly suggest people with lower and mid range computers to stay away from this game until it is able to accommodate you. Save your 20 dollars and save your machines.

this happens to me, i was wondering why i was so warm and i put my hand over the fan, and it was very hot- i think its because of the graphics and stuff but i agree its a very HOT game, i didnt think it would require such high specs just for this...a little bit worrying that it requires so much power.. and boils the pc- i do like it but if they can do something about that- that would be good. sorry you lost your laptop-

I've played games like cyberpunk on this computer with ease, and other games that should be far more demanding that this game, though noted that it's pretty standard for a gaming computer these days, but what they are requiring for the likes of this game seem a bit much, and yeah, mine would run hard during parts of the game, like the assignment map for one, which I found very odd. Something is very wrong here.

This is where my temps go crazy too, the map. I also find that really weird.

I agree, it blew my mind that this runs so hard, but I can play Hogwarts Legacy on medium with no temp or latency issue. The weird thing is that both laptops meet the minimum requirements (i7 9th gen and gtx 1650). So I sincerely hope they plan on a sizable optimization update or this game won’t last after the release of House Flipper 2. Also, thank you, she will be missed 🫡😂

When I had the game and task manager up not only was it drawing hard off of the RAM, but also the temperature of the GPU was rising at an alarming rate. I shut that ♥♥♥♥ off quick. I wasn’t even doing anything, just idling on the assignment screen. 🙃
It should not sound like a 747 about to take off when nothing is going on.
