Chickens are born live from what I've seen, the easiest way to observe if they are impregnated is to wait til' night-time when all the chickens head to an available roost and go to sleep.
I'm STILL studying myself if I need to buy 1 rooster per 2-3 chickens or if 1 will impregnate the lot but this is what I have so far on chickens
as for getting cows in the stall I THINK you have to have a chain or rope to lead them with proper and then tap the door or a sign near the door.
