Hatching Eggs

When you go to buy a chicken in the market, it says that the chickens are good at hatching eggs, and there are additional places in the game where it is suggested that the chickens will hatch their own eggs. How do we make this happen? I have picked up a chicken and tried to place it on the laid eggs, but that doesn't work. Thanks!

you need to keep them fed and they will lay eggs every day
To keep them fed you need to buy that pan from the same guy that sold you chicken, and you need to buy fodder to feed them.
I have 8 or 9 chicken and i get 28 eggs every day

Eggs do not thus far hatch no matter how long hens sit on them.

You should actually read what people ask before you reply they are not asking how to get eggs they are asking how to hatch them big difference

As to the question, AFAIK you can't o think its just a word translation mess up this game has quite a few.

I have been trying to figure this one out all day. I tried leaving eggs in the nests for an entire game year...I've tried laying single eggs around on the floor on the inside of the coop...I've tried putting the chickens back on top of the eggs, locking the chickens in the coop with the eggs and I've even tried just keeping them in my inventory(I'm warm, right? lol). It definitely seems like egg hatching/chicken breeding is not currently implemented into the game, despite the numerous references to it being a thing that can happen. Kind of annoying.

can't hatch eggs yet mate function is not added in the game for now
