Fishing for ring

Is there a certain place to go to fish for the ring and can you make it more likely to happen

I located mine in the pond by the farm. I fished off the pier and threw the line straight out.

Ok and how do I get the harvester mission and I’m doing the quest for the sawmill brothers but I sold my gun should I sell my distillery get a gun and then buy a new distillery with the quest
money

I assume you won't get the harvester quest until the main story quest (Your Brother) is completed because it relies on the dock and boat which don't appear until then.

And how do I get that and how do I get the tractor at Stan’s that says this isn’t mine yet but will someday

The main story quest proceeds with the letters dropped on your doorstep periodically. The better tractor is a side quest of its own. But you can repair the old tractor at the farm before that by finding or buying the needed parts (the newer tractor is nice to have but really not that much better than the old one).

As for your gun, you need one if you want to hunt and eat meat though you can live on eggs there are some NPC quests that need a gun and making friends with the NPC's by giving gifts is easier if you can cook as several of the gift options are food.

As for the distillery there is a quest with Helen that gets you one for free.
