This is the final achievement that I need and of course it's the worst one of the lot.
I have spent 3 days, 3 ACTUAL real life days, fishing in this game trying to get a bloody ring.
After 2.5 days I gave up on the river, and thought maybe somewhere else? I've fished everywhere the rod will cast. I have fished sober, I have fished drunk. I've fished on land, in the boat, and in the water. I've fished so much I never want to see a fishing rod again.
Please, someone tell me there's a trick to it.
A certain time of day, a certain rock to stand beside, a certain month even.

Just tell me this isn't completely random and I'm doomed.

Hell ive done caught like 4 rings already i sold 2 and i keeping 2 for the engagement and then the wedding to lol

Just in the river? Just at random? How many game days did it take you?

Does being married affect your chances of catching the ring? Because I never bothered to try before. I used the church ring!

i have 40 hours of real time in the game now and no im not married yet

I'm going to start a new save file tomorrow and see if I catch one. I'm gonna be so mad if this doesn't work lol.

When you finish the main quest and upgrade the plots there's a boathouse on the riverbank, right by the market.
Just hop in, use it like a tractor. I had to crouch to get it highlighted.

Literally just got it today, can confirm it is doable.

Unmarried, incomplete main-quest, out of the pond in-front of the farm.

Protip: you don't have to reel in everything, if you see it's a fish you can press (E) to cancel and cast your line again. If you overfish the spot you'll have to wait to try again later.

I have a nagging suspicion it's based on RNG, but the first bag I caught from the pond had a ring in it (at least the 3rd bag I've gotten since the full-release update, one from the river full of tools, one from the northern pond full of alcohol).

How did you do the cut chicken head with axe? ive tried placing on the block but when i chop fire wood the chicken just flys of the block

Take chicken in one hand (unboxed), hold ax in other hand, interact with wood chopping block. :)
