trees
Unfortunately you can't plant tree seedlings in the forest areas, or I'm too stupid. Are you planning to change that in the future?

I know now we can plant only in the areas with permissions are activated.

Yes, but not on Woodareas

Yes, any planting is considered a farming activity, so if there is no farming permit available on a land plot then planting new trees will not be possible.

First of all thanks for your answer. And yes, I know that you need an agricultural permit to plant any plants. But I'm specifically concerned with forest areas. If I buy agricultural permission for a forest area, I still can't plant anything there, or I'm doing something wrong. If I want to plant a tree seedling, he tells me that I have to prepare the soil first. As always, I have to remove the weeds with the scythe. It just doesn't seem to work in a wooded area on the forest floor. He always tells me that the weeds here are too thick and he can't remove them. This means that despite having agricultural permission, I cannot plant anything in a forest area, i.e. I cannot plant a tree seedling. So I don't know if this is what you want or a bug. But it's not possible in any forest area, not even the small forest area that belongs to you from the start, the small one right behind the house. Outside of forest areas, i.e. on the farm or in a meadow, I can plant trees with agricultural authorization. Just not in a forest area. And I would just like to reforest my forest areas

I have to say that this current behaviour was a bad outcome when the grass changes were made. The "forested" areas which are in land plots which have the logging permit really should allow the player to plant the Fir and Poplar seedlings to allow replacement of the trees that are cut down (maybe it could be changed to not require a plowed spot or add a special permanent spot anywhere a tree is cut down?)

We will consider our options to cover reforesting.

Thanks a lot

Why buy trees anyways? A tree costs almost 700. You get 25 planks or 32 I think with table saw, you can buy planks for way less then a tree and no work. And it takes forever to grow. By my calculations it’s about twice as much to buy a tree and plant it to harvest as it is to just buy same amount of planks or firewood. I enjoy the aspect of logging but the price is just a huge miss.

I think the price should be greatly reduced to like 70 not 700 or you get way more wood from a planted tree. (That may be the case my test tree is still growing)

Is this a old question about the prices of the stuff in the game, overpriced i don't know why. We like replant and reflorest (for fun too) alot but with this prices we leave alone.
bartiss  [developer] Nov 22, 2023 @ 11:43pm
There is more to the high price: performance.
Trees planted by players are not part of the efficient foilage system. They become separate entitites that cannot be incorporated back into the system. The more such entities the worse the game runs. It's the same as having more and more animals. Lower price and higher availability would result in larger "custom forests" and complaints about performance.

Also, we added planting trees for visual reasons, not economical ones.
They are not supposed to make you richer. They are supposed to let you change the landscape in a meaningful way.
There are so many trees in Zalesie it's really hard to run out of them, especially if you buy yourself a tree rich landplot.

Can I ask what's been done about reforestation? I've nearly cleared the trees on farm, I don't have the money to buy foresting rights, and I'd rather not buy planks if I can help it. Help!!
bartiss  [developer] Jul 29, 2024 @ 1:29am
Nothing was done about reforestation :(
But still, it takes a looong time for a tree to grow. You could earn heaps of money in that time and buy tonnes of planks or a woodcutting permit.

Ah well. Thanks anyways

EN - When I read the previous discussion, developer bartiss wrote that trees grow over a long period of time. So that the trees are renewed. The question is, after how long, what are the conditions for restoring the tree???? You can write it in help. If it is true that trees regenerate themselves. If not, the mayor can plant new trees in the area for a certain amount. Thanks for the answers. ps. I apologize for the mistakes, this was done by google translator

CZ - Když jsem četl předchozí diskuzi, tak vývojář bartiss napsal že stromy rostou za dlouhou dobu. Tak, že se stromy obnovují. Otázka je, za jak dlouho, jaké jsou podmínky obnovy stromu???? Můžete to napsat do nápovědy. Jestli to je pravda, že stromy se obnovují sami. Jestli ne, tak můžete starosta za nějakou sumu zasadit nové stromy v dané oblasti. Děkuji za odpovědi.
bartiss  [developer] Sep 18, 2024 @ 11:47pm
Trees don't regenerate. You have to plant new ones yourself and it takes many months for them to fully grow.
