Have not managed to grow oats myself. Have to get plow and see if that works.

now i have the task of sowing oats. the description says that you can prepare the ground with a plow or a hoe. i prepared the soil with the hoe, but nothing happens when i sow oats. except that the grains disappear.

Have you looked at ground to see if it says oat? And even if not, try waiting couple days and see if something grows.

Planting oats in ground prepared with the hoe does not currently seem to work; the seeds just go "poof" and nothing gets planted. I'm not sure if this is a bug, or if you need plowed ground. I'm working towards getting the horse and plow to test it, but it's slow going (so expensive...).

i actually got the horse and plow on yr 2 but when i almost got back to the farm the screen went black the plow was on the other side of the road and the horse was no where to be found

Hunt a couple of deer and boars, the hides sell for really good money, boar hides are like 240 a piece and deer are roughly 300 a piece. I use the hand cart for transporting a bunch at a time as well as my inventory. Then use the extra meat to make cooked ham and sell everything to the meat market guy and you should have more then enough to do what ever you need. If not, rinse and repeat till you do.

On a side note, bear hides are 500 but an entire bear is 100 lbs so if you're very far from the farm you're in for a long trip back to your processing table in your barn.

From the description of some other things, I think by "digger" they mean the hoe. But as discussed it doesn't seem to be possible to plant oats on ground prepared with the hoe, so it looks like either the description is wrong or oats are bugged.

OK, I got the horse and plow: trying to plant oats on the plowed ground doesn't work either. I repaired the tractor, but I can't figure out if you can attach the plow (or anything else) to it, or if it's just to ride around in...

@Philtre : you can attach everything on the tractor that fits on the horse. And it goes the same way. Drive close to it - go to the equipment and press attach.

Du kannst alles an den Traktor koppeln was auch ans Pferd passt. Einfach ran fahren und dann an das Gerät gehen und auf Ankoppeln gehen.
Zum Basisthema - Kartoffeln und Hafer scheinen nicht zu funktionieren.

@Sven777b : potatoes go, you have to put them in the handslot and then plant them like carrots. i have about 500 potatoes after the 2nd harvest.

kartoffeln gehen, du musst sie in den handslot legen und dann wie karotten pflanzen. ich habe ca 500 kartoffeln nach der 2. ernte.
