Another fictional world ruined by ridiculous insertion of real world politics

I play games to escape reality. To be immersed in something different. Politics in games can be fine, but at least be creative enough to construct them in-universe. The politics in this game read like an angry redditor's personal diary, so upset and angry that they force their whining into fictional works. Thank god for reviews and playthroughs cause I saved the time and money.

There's no "real world politics" in ENCODYA. Not at all. As stated at the beginning in our disclaimer, we are not taking any part. We simply mock a stereotypical politician, in our case German, small, big belly and long moustaches, which has no reference to the real world whatsoever. Also, despite the name Rumpf might remember someone else, I'd like to point out that Rumpf in German means "hull" and, as you can notice from the trailer, a ship will have a central role in ENCODYA. I'm an Italian living in Estonia and with ENCODYA I simply wanted to describe a fictional politician which, together with big corporations, is controlling the people of Neo Berlin. No personal diary here.

Don't go into that. Politics is his own personal problem. Even if politics makes realistic references in games, they're still games, and in this case politics doesn't take away from Encodya's dazzling charm. You did everything right and you did a really great job.

cyberpunk 2077 devs also said their game ran great on current gen systems. Just bc they say it dont make it true. For the record I have no problem with satire characters if they are in a satirical game such as leisure suit larry, but if you want me to take your game world seriously which this game does, just dont do it lol. Bc I cant believe not one dev said hmmm you know this guy rumpf looks and acts like a parody of one of the most famous men on the planet, I just dont buy it at all lol.

It's not a parody of Trump. I've said it already many times. It's a parody of a stereotypical politician (mostly German). The only similarity with the former US president is in the name (which is a German word) and the blonde hair (which is a German characteristic). Our Mr Rumpf is small and chubby, with a "pig-alike" face and long moustaches and speaks with German accent. All these aspects have nothing to do with D.T. and are typical for some politicians (that in Art are often painted as "pigs", as well as being short, like Italian Berlusconi for instance or many other villains in cartoon movies). If we truly wanted to make it look like Trump, we should have make it taller, speaking with American accent and, well, more similar to the former US president!!! But we didn't, because it's not...
Probably people think of D.T. just because nowadays he is a meme. But we hope for ENCODYA to be timeless, to be played by people for many years, without any connection to the actual politics. Ours is just a generic critic towards governments that together with corporations might try to control people with media. From any political side (Left, Right, Center, whatnot) and nationality. Simple as that. I won't repeat it anymore.

you can say it a 1000 times, I dont believe you at all and neither do a lot of other posters on here obviously. So I guess you should have gone with another character archetype, bc if not one of your team members or play testers said this is a trump parody, than they are blind.

Id have more respect for yall if you said this is what we believe take it or leave it, than what you are doing now. Obviously this issue has come up or you wouldnt need a disclaimer to begin with. Ps as someone who plays a lot of german adventure games, we all know its hard for yall to get anybody over in Europe to do an american accent, just ask Daedalic games.

But best of luck with this game, I think you have an uphill battle ahead of you, convincing anybody that this is not trump.

Honestly though the two names rhyme... I saw no similarities between the antagonist in this game and the former US President; neither his personality nor his policies. I feel that anyone reading that into this game are really stretching their imaginations.

Absolute NOBODY cares about what your limited imagination makes you think. What you see in whom does not matter for either the player of this game or the developer. If you don't like the game, wonderful, that's your right. But to want to impose YOUR point of view on the developer and insinuate that it is as you say it is just stupid. And it's not worth discussing with stupid people.

So the bad guy in our game is this fat dumb politician with blond hair and of German descent named Rumpf. But it's merely a coincidence! No real life politics involved whatsoever.

You know, I'd have more respect for the dev if they just owned it up and told people "yeah it's Trump, don't like it, don't play it". Dancing around the issue so much comes off as incredibly insecure.

please be aware that ingame as well as here we have clearly stated, what the matter regarding this is.
Please refer to those statements and even if you personally do not agree, does not change the fact, that this has been sorted, explained and made clear all along and there is no need to bump this thread any further.
If you like to talk about real life politics and include your theories about it being included are referenced in any media, there are most likely different channels to be found.
As this being said, either get back to game-related topics, or move on, as mentioned above.
