ad2: Might be range or enemy specific? (Can overcome the brute now. Voiceline.) Cant say for sure, because I started using it, once all the "armor" on an enemy was gone usually, but then also had instances, where I hit a nearby person with armor on and it worked... edit: After a few more fights, I think thats it. With "brutes" you can only remove their head piece of armor, once you've shot away all other pieces - which (headpiece) should be what makes the snuff not work. This also goes for hat guys and knife guys with masks on. But there are guys that only have arm plating (lower level ones), on which it works - so if you dont remove the plating on them, you cant use their weakpoints, but snuff or environmental hazzards would work.
ad3: It shouldnt and I've never seen it (multiple enemies maybe? So if someone is behind you...) But maybe? Running around, or even jogging around in circles usually gets the job of evading done better, also depends on enemy types - but the hard hitting ones usually arent master marksmen. :)
ad4: Sure there is. :) Two enemy types. One that has to reload after two shots. So run around, make them miss two times, then sneak behind them during the reload animation, and profit. That doesnt go for the knife throwing enemy, but that one exposes the thing on his back while trowing (at the end of the throwing animation), so if you time slomo correctly, you can shoot the thing on their back quite easily.
ad5: Punching is only the finishing move, you shouldnt do it when you still cant (they arent stunned yet). Otherwise it would circumvent the entire combat puzzle. :)
thanks
1. You can't kill enemies while they try and kill you.
2. There are multiple enemies attacking you at once.
3. The aiming system is terrible. Even when you're spot-on, it doesn't register 70% of the time.
4. Much of the time, you have to shoot the same spot more than once for it to register
5. The environmental traps don't work most of the time
6. Once you've shot off all the enemies' armor, there's no way to stun them to arrest then
7. There are endless enemies so even after you arrest 10 of them, there are still more
8, The enemies appear suddenly right next to or behind you from out of nowhere
9. There's no way to heal yourself except over time
10. The camera system is sloppy as hell during combat when you need it most
11. There are many different buttons to remember to use within combat.
12. Because you need to move across the keyboard and slam buttons very quickly, it can be messy and cause you to hit a Windows button taking you out to the desktop or another app
I know there's more, but it can't possibly get any worse. Just absolutely childish and unenjoyably difficult for no reason. And before people say I'm soft or to stop whining, fine, but the entire rest of the game as in 90% of it is walking around, exploring and deduction... so the combat system should be at least somewhat in line with that. So it makes the action EXTREMELY JARRING!!! Like someone put Mortal Kombat on level 10 EXTREME Difficulty level in the middle of an otherwise pretty good cool game.
The combat system in this game can go eat my grandmother's unholy ass!
